Padma Bushan Kamal Haasan may have gone though quite a number of obstacles in his long career, but today, February 7th marks the day he was finally relieved last year.
This day marks the 1st anniversary of the release of Ulaga Nayagan Kamal’s ‘Vishwaroopam’ in Tamil Nadu after a number of controversies delaying its release in the state. Even though Vishwaroopam was released in Kerala & Karnataka, it had a delayed release in Tamil Nadu due to some political controversies surrounding the film's content.
This had evoked a major anger and uproar among the 'die-hard fans of Kamal' in the State of Tamil Nadu about this issue. Kamal Haasan went to the extent of saying that he would leave Tamil Nadu and move to some other secular state in the country.
At this point of time dejected Kamal has said "If there is no secular state in India, I would go overseas. I think Tamil Nadu wants me out. What would change is my passport; I would still be an Indian."
Vishwaroopam had overcame all these obstacles and released in the state finally, to a massive response at the box-office.
Vishwaroopam was among the Top 3 highest box-office hit in Tamil film Industry last year and the curiosity about the film and its entertaining screenplay made sure that most of the people of Tamil Nadu saw the movie at least once.

Kamal has written, directed and co-produced this spy thriller, which is going to be simultaneously released in Tamil as well as in Hindi languages.
